Bai and the gang were sat on Taeo. She was extremely bored with what was going on. She wanted her flying bison to hurry up and get to the Northern air temple before she died of boredom. She had her head rested on her hands. She perked her head up as she heard the sound of whizzing coming towards them. In the horizon, past the mist, was the Northern air temple and all its glory. It was just like the Southern temple but the spires where green. She heard it again, the whizzing sound. She looked above her and saw people flying. It couldn't be airbenders, could it? She saw one fly past her. "I'll be right back guys." She said with a flick of her wrist her staff became a glider and she jumped off of Taeo and into the air. She flew next to the person on a glider and realised he wasn't an airbender. A bit upset, she flew down to the landing port of the Northern temple and watched as Taeo landed to. She looked around and to her surprise, it was busy. People were taking off, some were landing. A young boy walked towards her. She recognised him from the boy she was flying next to. "Get skills you got there." He said as she flicked her glider back into a staff. "Thanks, its from years of practice." She said. He smiled. "Maybe you'll have to teach me sometime." He said as he called a name. "Yeh I would." She said. He called the name again and a man ran out with curly hair and glasses. He looked weird at first but he seemed friendly. "Well hey kids, my what a lovely staff you have there." He said as he examined her staff. "Thanks?" She questioned as she turned to Trira and did the sign of him being crazy.

Trira was really excited to see the northern air temple. She had heared some stories of what was going on there, but she had never seen it with her own eyes. During the wars it happened one or two times that she thought that she should have tried to be with the fire nation, only to see the air temples. She had always loved them. Then, finally, she could see it through the mist. It was really beautiful, even better than she had imagined it. And then she also saw the flying people. First she had her mouth open. She asked herself for a second if there could be more air benders. But then she remembered the stories of the northern air temple. And she also remembered that an inventor lived here. She was sure that he had managed to let these people fly. When she turned to look at Bai, she saw that her friend was already in the air. Trira shook her head, but waited till Taeo was landing. When the bison landed, Trira jumped off it and walked beside it. She was a little bit in the shadow, but she could see everything clearly. First Bai talked with an boy, and then another man came to them. He examinated the staff of Bai. Trira nearly began to laugh. "When you are really the one I think you are and the stories about you are true, you have to be the one who had made Avatar Aangs new stuff. And you are interested in the one of my friend.", she said to the Mechanist. Then she slowly walked out of the shadow. Her clothes seemed to contain fire. "Bai, this man is inventor.", Trira explained to the air bender.

Bai raised an eyebrow when Trira mentioned that he was an inventor. Trira must've heard stories about this inventor because Bai had never heard of him. She looked at him and his clothes. He did look like an inventor. "So you're an iventor are you?" She asked. The man stood proudly.
"Yes I am an inventor. Would you mind if I looked at your staff? Is it like Avatar Aang's?" he asked.
"Of course you can have a look." She said as she passed him the staff. "It is like Aang's staff. My father made it for me." Bai said as she remembered the times with her father. He was a good man and cared for Bai. He was the only one who cared for her when she was banished. Bai couldn't help but laugh when the man inspected the staff closer. He flicked it into a glider and slid his finger along the staff. "Very nice wings, original. Nice and sturdy too." He said. "Your father must be a very good inventor." He said, which only brought sadness. "I know he was." Bai said. Not letting her emotions get to her, Bai perked up. "did you make these?" She asked.
"Yes I did, maybe your friend might like a go." The man said. Bai turned to Trira.
"We could fly in the sky togther. What do you say?" Bai asked in excitement.

Trira watched as the inventor examinated Bais staff. Stories of him came into her mind. But they were not only good stories. And she knew that Bai would not like most of them. She wondered if they could really trust him, because he had worked together with the Fire Nation one time. Then he had helped Aang. In her eyes he was not a complete traidor, but you cannot trust somebody like him really much. Bai talked with the inventor about her father, and Trira looked at the ground. Her face hardened a little bit as she thought about her own father. He had hated her before she had went away from home. Then they asked her if she would like to fly a little bit. "Yeah, that would be really funny.", she said and smiled at Bai. Trira could not imagine how it has to be in the air without using firebending. Fast somebody brought her one glider. "How do I use that?", she asked. She thought that it has to be easy, but she wanted to know everything about it before she started to fly.

Trira agreed to fly and Bai jumped up and down excitedly. It was going to be so fun flying with Trira. Someone gave Trira one and she asked how to use it. Before Bai was about to answer, the inventor interupted. "Well young lady as you might have seen your friend fly is how you're going to fly. As you can see there are feet holes for your feet and places to hold on to. Your friend will show you." Bai looked at him in surprised but she did as she was told. She placed her hands on the little bars to hold on to. And she pointed to the foot holders.
"Well Trira, as your about to fly, you run on the runway and let the wind take your glider. It might feel weird at first but as you fly for longer you'll get used to it." Bai said. she eyed the runway and started to run, picking up speed as she went. As she reached the end, she used her foot to leap off the runway and into the air. Bai lifted the front of the glider up and she started to do loop the loops. As she was flying over Trira she shouted down to her. "Come on Trira, that glider isn't going to fly itself." Bai laughed and landed again. "you can fly with me if you like." Bai said. She got ready again and looked at Trira. "Ready, steady, GO!" Bai shouted as she ran off the edge and leaped into the air, letting the wind take her glider.

Trira watched as Bai showed her how to fly. Suddenly she asked herself if that was really a good idea. Bai was an airbender, so she can use her bending when something should happen. She herself could only use fire, and that would burn everything. But then Bai counted. Trira could not say that she did not want to fly. So shortly after her friend had started to run, she also rushed toward the runway. Fast it came nearer and Trira started to feel the wind. Then she jumped down the runway. She lifted the front like she had seen it and was flying. Trira had to laugh as she found out that she was really flying. Slowly and carefully she made her glider turn and was trying to get next to Bai. "That is so cool!", she shouted to her friend.

Bai laughed when she watched Trira leaped off the edge. Bai was happy that Trira was flying, at least Trira understood how fun flying was. After a few seconds, Trira was flying next to her. Trira was so excited and she said that flying was cool. Bai laughed and nodded. "It is, I love it." Bai shouted. Bai swooped to the side and did a few spirls. After that a few loop the loops and then she flew back to Trira. "Now you see how much I love flying." Bai said as she dived down and landed back onto the runway. She walked towards the boy she was talking to. "So what's your name then?" She asked him.
"I'm Chang. What's yours?" He asked.
"I'm Bai it's nice to meet you."Bai said as she shuffled on her feet.
"So are you an airbender or something?" He asked. What is it with people getting straight to the point?
"Yes, I am an airbender." Bai said. "Don't tell anyone though."
He nodded his head. Bai sighed, she wanted to look around.

Trira watched Bai and laughed. She wished she could fly as good as her friend, but she knew that she would need much more training for that. But when Bai landed Trira tried it herself. She managed to be on the right spot, but it was a real crash. But she did not destroy the glider. Fast she stood up and walked next to Bai. She stood next to the air bender right after the boy had said his name is Chang. Trira was silent and only listened. She still did not knew how much you could trust these people. But she thought that she was a little bit stupid. They had helped Aang, why should they fight against them right now?

Trira landed from her glider and stood quietly next to Bai. Bai wondered why Trira was being so quiet. She was never usually quiet. Then she thought maybe Trira was listening and deciding whether or not to trust this boy. At once Bai had felt connected to Chang, one reason was because he could fly like Bai. Chang seemed about the same age as Bai and he seemed rather nice. He smiled at Bai. "Would you like a tour?" He asked as he started to walk to the big temple that made the little floating island. Bai nodded excitedly. She ran after him and looked back. She told Chang to run on ahead. Bai walked back to Trira and smiled. "Why are you so silent?" Bai asked still smiling. "It's not like you to be this quiet, you usually talking a lot like me." She laughed and turned back to Trira. "You know something about these people don't you?" Bai asked full of curiousity.

Trira did not knew if she should warn Bai what she will see soon. She knew that the northern air temple was not like it had been before. She was not sure what to do. It was long ago since she had felt helpless the last time. When Bai asked her if she knew something about this people, Trira nodded. "Yeah, I know many stories. I will tell you later some of them. But soon you will see something I also have only heared in stories.", the firebender said. She had chosen not to tell her friend everything. It would not be good if she knew some things and they were not true. "And I am only quiet because I try to decide if I should trust these people or not. But now come, lets see if the stories I have heared are right.", she said to Bai and walked after Chang.

Trira explained to Bai what she knew but Trira was hiding something. She knew something that Bai didn't and it confused her at what Trira was hiding. Bai shrugged her shoulders and thought about the 'riddle' that Trira had given her. She was confused but wanted to know. Bai followed Trira as they followed Chang. As they entered the main temple, Bai was horrified by what she saw. The amazing momnuments and artifacts that belonged to this temple had been destroyed and replaced by machines and boilers. "What is this?!" Bai said with anger in her voice. "Why have you destroyed ancient monuments and built this? What is this?" Bai was really angry now. "I know you need somewhere to live but you didn't need to destroy this place which belonged to my ancestors." She shouted. Chang tried to speak but she didn't let him. Everyone was staring at her in confusion. "Yes that's right. I'm an airbender. And you've destroyed this place." Bai turned to Trira. "Did you know about this?"

As they entered the main temple, Trira saw that the stories had been right. Then she looked at the ground. It was nearly at the same time when Bai started to shout. She was not sure any more if it had been the right decision to hide this from her friend. Then her friend turned to her and asked her if she had known about that. Trira nodded and looked up to Bai. "Yeah, I have known that. The stories had told that in the northern air temple lives an inventor who had built many things.", she said to Bai. Then she slowly walked towards her. "I am sorry. I had not known if I should tell you or not.", she said to the airbender. Then she looked to Chang. "There is also a little bit more you should know about this place. Chang, show us the room where the weapons had been built in the last war.", she said to the boy. He did not seemed very happy, but said nothing. "Maybe you will understand my suspicion after you have seen this room.", she whispered to Bai.

Bai calmed as Trira explained that she did know but she didn't know if the stories about this place were true. Bai looked into Trira's eyes and saw the guilt in her eyes. She looked around the place again. "It's okay Trira I understand. I accept your apology." Bai was confusd when Trira asked Chang to show them the room with the weapons from the last war. Bai looked at Chang who had lowered his head. "What do you mean room with the weapons from the last war?" Chang faced her with guilty eyes.
"This way Bai and Trira." Bai was even more upset. "You were helping the Fire nation?" Bai asked but didn't get an answer. She still followed him to the room with the weapons and was shocked. Swords, barrells and other untensils covered the floor. She turned to face Chang but he had disappeared and the door had closed. Trira and Bai were locked in the room. "I'm sorry Bai. and Trira." Chang said behind the door. Bai banged on the door. "Chang what's going on?" Bai asked banging on the door. "Well well well." A familiar voice said in the shadows. Bai turned quick to see who it was. The person the voice belonged to stepped into the sun peering in through the window. "Well if it isn't the airbender and her firebender friend." Bai's eyes turned to hate. It was Reiku.

Trira followed Chang. When she got into the room with the weapons, she could not believe what she saw. It looked like they were still working for the fire nation. But that would mean that these people were real traidors. Or there were only so many weapons left from the last war. But then the door closed behind Bai and her. Chang had captured them. Suddenly Trira asked herself how she could have been so silly to demand to get into this room. She was ready to try to melt the door, which she knew was impossible, when she heared a voice behind her. With wide eyes she turned and saw Reiku. "You.", she said with a low voice. She could not believe it that he was in this room. "How have you known that we are coming here?", she asked Reiku. He only laughed. Trira looked to Bai, not knowing what to do or to say. She knew that it was her fault that they were in a trap again. "What have you done that these people help you? I have thought that they can be traidors, but I have thought they would still be loyal to the avatar and not fight with the fire nation again.", she said. Reiku shook his head and grinned. "It is not them, but mainly Chang. And I have told him that I will destroy the whole temple and let everybody kill when he does not help me.", he said to Trira. She was really shocked.

Bai couldn't believe it , they had been caught again. Trira asked many questions and Reiku answered them. It was weird how some people could control the actions of one person through the danger of others. Bai was shocked that Chang would betray the avatar and serve the fire nation. Bai looked at Trira and then at Reiku. She calmed herself before she spoke. "What authority do you have that can control a whole army to destroy this temple because I don't think that those people out there won't go down without a fight." Bai asked with curiousity. Reiku laughed at that question as if Bai had just told a joke. "Well young one, I was a general and even then I could control an army." Bai raised an eyebrow.
"Wait what do you mean was?" she asked.
"I am now known as Fire Lord Reiku." He said with pride. Bai's eyes grew wide and her jaw dropped.
"And I have declared war on the Earth Kingdom about our dear old Fire Lord Zuko's death. Now you'll have no where to hide even if you do escape me again. Which will never happen." He paused and stared at Bai. "Arrest them." He simply said and the guards came to life. They stood in a fire bending stance. Bai stood in her stance as a firebender came towards her. She used her staff and whipped the fire as it disappeared.

Trira found out that Bai asked the better questions. But she could not believe what Reiku answered. But this time she had could not think really much. She had not much time if she wanted to escape together with Bai. When the guards came to life, Trira concentrated to let them stay away from her as far as she could. "Do you really do not know who had killed Zuko? Or have you only used the quarrels with the earth kingdom to declare war?", she suddenly asked. This was an thought that had come to her mind shortly after she had heared that Reiku was fire lord. She had asked herself if he could have done something so that Zuko was killed. Fast she managed to push one guard to the wall. At the same time the others tried to get nearer to her, but fast they had to go back again.

Bai listened as Trira asked a good question. she asked Reiku if the attack was to do with Zuko or was it just about the quarrells in the Earth kingdom. Bai smiled at her friend, it was butt wooping time. Reiku stood there with his fire nations robes and watched as the firebenders attacked. Trira slammed one into a wall and they all stepped back. Bai looked at the two benders, well one was a bender and the other was a non bender. Bai was still curious at why Reiku had a non bender with him but there must be some kind of reason. The fire bender attacked Bai but she dodged it. The firebender was only young so he only knew a few advanced moves. Bai spun in a circle to make a tunnel of air and sent it to the firebender. He fell to the floor, hard. Then the non bender approached her. He started to do a few flips and landed near Bai. She jumped into the air but was met with the man. He jabbed a few times on her chest and she fell to the ground. She tried to create a gust of wind but she couldn't. That non bender had down some special move that took away her airbending. Bai looked around worriedly. "Trira, I can't airbend." She shouted as the man took hand cuffs and put them on her hands. "Help!" she screamed.

Reiku did not answer, but right now she tried not to get near to one of her enemies. She did not knew which one of those could have the ability to block the chi. And suddenly, she heared Bai how she said that she could not airbend any more. Fast she looked around to see who had done that to her. She did not need a second for looking, but the other guards had waited for their chance. They were really fast, and before Trira could turn her head again, all around her were the guards. Two further were coming from her back and took her arms and hold them at her back. Fast the made her arms in fire, but then she remembered that they could manage not to be burnt. She looked at Bai, who had the hand cuffs, with sorrow in her eyes. Then she looked again at Reiku. Her eyes were blinking and shining, and you could see that her soul was still ready to fight. "Why does it always have to be so difficult to get the two of you?", Reiku asked. Then he showed the guards that it was time to go. "The fire nation only waits for you two to come.", he said to Bai and Trira. Then he walked out of the room. Suddenly, he turned again and looked at Trira. "I have a little surprise for you when we are back in the fire nation.", he said to her, then led the guards away. Trira did not knew what the fire lord could mean.

Bai watched as Trira was captured as well. This was all going really bad. A guard made Trira's arms on fire but she was a firebender and was able to keep them from burning. In Trira's eyes, Bai could see they were shining and was still ready to fight. That's what Bai liked about Trira, her honour and her courage. Now she couldn't do a thing like that. Bai was quite weak compared to Trira. Reiku asked why it was so hard to capture the two of them. Bai smiled evily, "maybe because we have dignity." she said. Reiku just laughed. "As if you do." He replied. He told them that the fire nation was waiting for the two of them and he had a surprise for Trira. Bai didn't know what it meant but with Reiku involved, it could only be bad. "Do you know how annoying you are?" Bai asked. "Why can't you leave us alone? Your just a crazy fire lord. Your like Ozai." Bai laughed. She loved winding him up and pushing the right buttons. "I know, but wasn't Ozai leader of many towns and citites?" He asked. Bai shook her head. They were lead to the fire nation war balloons. They were huge and had the symbol of the fire nation on them. Well there was only one but it was still big. Bai looked up at the sight of the people. She was glad that Akros wasn't there to see her in pain and he couldn't be caught by the fire nation either. As they walked onto the war balloon, they were lead to prisons.
